I decided that in order to prepare for our final animation, I would research not only how to animate a camera in Maya; but how to do it in an interesting way. I believe that getting the camera in the right place, in the right time, is crucial to good storytelling.
These video tutorials below really helped me to understand the key elements of capturing good camera angles.
I went through a scene step by step on Maya, roughly placing the main characters where we would want them in the scene then thought about where the camera could be in relation to them, pondering how best to capture the action/story.
